    Chapter 20, part IX (nueve)

She sat silent, in meditation. In her mind, she focussed on her current sole purpose; to establish a communication channel with God. She wanted some signs, answers, anything at all to make her know what this is all about.

"God?..." her voice broke in nervousness. She was anxious, not knowing how to phrase her request properly. She was not even sure if English was the right language to speak to God. Then again, she does not know any other language to speak, so she dared not be ambitious.

She took a deep breathe and thought about what she was about to request for. In actual fact, she was not even sure what she wanted to ask for. She was not even sure what she wanted, whether for things to turn out the way she wanted them to, or for her heart to be strong enough to accept destinies as they come along.

She thought about her lover. Him who had been occupying her mind eversince he left her the other day.

"God? I just...wish, that you would let me speak with him...again? Please? No matter what the outcome is. But I just need this. Just a closure."

Silence. Nothing. She closed her eyes, wishing for miracle. For her meditation to be disrupted. For her phone to ring. For the IM alert tone to buzz throughout the room, anything at all. But her hopes were shattered. She knew it was too much to ask for.

Later that night, she looked through her window and stared at the stars. And then, she went into slumber...
