Seeing the world with these eyesSong of the moment: Oh My God - Mark Ronson feat. Lily AllenGreat rulers look for greater glory The only thing growing is our history Knock me down I'll get right back up again I'll come back stronger than a powered up pac-man Tjena! Hur mår du? It's lunch break time but I'm too lazy to have lunch (haha have you ever met anyone like that? Damn you Syida lazy ass). Anyway, referring to the previous entry, I'm relieved to find out that Singapore has reduced the paranoia about the flu. Well reading up about how everyone is panicking and how my 2 dear friends were quarantined and how even my family are worried about me kind of magnifies the whole perspective about this flu. And it kept me anxious over the whole of last week. An uncalled for distress I daresay. That being said, I am currently in class waiting for the next part of the day to kick off. We had a great discussion from the previous lesson. Basically, I am taking this class called Children's Health Issues (course from the Hälsohögskolan, the Health School). This morning's topic of conversation was about Children's rights, and the issues of education and empowerment came into the picture. I have to say that taking these kind of social science courses overseas is an excellent way to expand your perspectives of things. Basically, I am taking this class with 9 others, 1 Australian (that being Claire...she's really cute) and 1 Dutch (Irene), 1 Swede (Faith) and the rest are Africans, ranging from Tanzania, Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe. Issues we worry about in our country may not be what others worry about in theirs. And you get to see how there is so much more to the world than the trivial and superficial things we think and worry about. You catch? We even had an argument about gender issues. I guess everyone has a varied idealism about what should and should not be. It's culturally based. And sometimes, they even make you wonder if your proposed scenario is possible when you realise that certain people practice things differently due to the nature of their lives, from financial needs and such. All being said, I shall ponder upon this even more after this class. Okay. Hej då!
